THE PANDEMIC, THE RUSSIAN-UKRAINIAN WAR, AND RELATED ECONOMIC THREATS
Abstract
The paper examines the economic threats resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic, the Russian-Ukrainian war, and the economic sanctions that were imposed by the West on Russia. As a result of the study, both macroeconomic (growth of public debt, high inflation) and microeconomic (zombification of the economy, stopping the innovative development of the economy) threats were identified. Russia’s war in Ukraine has exacerbated the risk of Moscow using cryptocurrency for illicit transactions. The issue of energy and food security has also worsened. The foundation for the process of de-dollarization in international trade is being laid, although, in reality, replacing the US dollar with other currencies is impossible both now and in the foreseeable future. The basis of the future economic model of the world’s economy will most likely be “globalization with economic security.”
