Road Infrastructure and Eco-Urbanism: Engineering Approaches To Sustainable Road Infrastructure
Abstract
Rapid urbanization and the development of transportation systems in modern cities significantly increase the infrastructural pressure on the urban environment. Road infrastructure represents one of the fundamental elements of the economic and social development of cities; however, its intensive expansion often leads to environmental challenges such as air pollution, increased noise levels, and the degradation of natural ecosystems. Eco-urbanism represents a contemporary concept of urban planning aimed at achieving the harmonious integration of infrastructure with the natural environment. This paper discusses the role of road infrastructure in eco-urban development, the principles of green road infrastructure, and modern engineering solutions aimed at improving environmental sustainability in urban transportation systems.
