Abstract

We suggest that thermal unfolding of the molten globule state of horse cytochrome С is a cooperative process with a small, but distinct and positive ΔCp=0.2±0.02J/gK. Results suggest that transition “molten globule-unfolded state” for cytochrome is like phase transition of the first order. However, by certain attribute this transition is close by to second-order phase transition, for example, the heat of transition is small ΔН=173 КJ-1М-1
